It's spring, and I'm back!

It's been a long time since I posted anything, but it has been a very busy year! I don't ice fish a lot, so I put the blog on hold for the winter. Now that spring is just around the corner though, I am feeling the urge to get back to my favorite pass time. With a new year, comes new tips I learned over the winter and here's one for you! Have you ever, wanted your favorite lipped crank baits to swim deeper than they can? Well here's a cool tip to make that happen. What you do is drill a hole in the bottom of a hollow crank bait, fill it with water, and cut a small piece of wooden dowl, or make a rubber plug the same size as the drilled hole, and plug it after filling it with the water. This trick will add weight to the bait, but will not affect the way it swims or the balance, and yet, it leaves you with the option of going back to the original weight, if you choose, by emptying the water out and putting the plug back in! Dual purpose crank baits! Awesome!
